Light a lantern for what came before and make space for what comes next.
At Samhain, the customary turn of the year's wheel, the old year is laid down and the new one begins in the dark. The Ancestor's Lantern marks it gently: a string of rock quartz lights, a row of small ivory candles, a journal for the people, places, achievements and comforts worth preserving, a spiced tea and a stick of sandalwood. The ritual is memory and gratitude. It does not attempt to contact anybody, and it promises nothing of the kind: it asks who and what you are grateful for, and how you might honour them.
Three editions. The same five stages in all of them, and the person it is for has their name and your message written into the guide.
The three editions
The Single Flame — £40.00
The Single Flame opens a doorway into seasonal turning, remembrance and grounded ritual. Created as part of The Ancestor's Lantern, this edition invites you to light a symbolic lantern for memory, gratitude and the people or stories that helped shape the path behind you - but the real sequence is kept for the moment the box is open and the room has gone quiet. One lantern, one quiet evening of remembering: the rock quartz lights, twelve ivory candles, the black journal, sandalwood incense and a spiced tea for a first Samhain sitting. Expect a carefully layered mix of sensory details, reflective prompts and meaningful objects, including hints of Rock Quartz Gemstone Enchantment Light, Sandalwood Incense Sticks, and White Washed Incense Holder. We will not tell you exactly what each one becomes. Some parts are better discovered in candlelight.
The Lantern Lit — £80.00
The Lantern Lit opens a doorway into seasonal turning, remembrance and grounded ritual. Created as part of The Ancestor's Lantern, this edition invites you to light a symbolic lantern for memory, gratitude and the people or stories that helped shape the path behind you - but the real sequence is kept for the moment the box is open and the room has gone quiet. Expect a carefully layered mix of sensory details, reflective prompts and meaningful objects, including hints of Rock Quartz Gemstone Enchantment Light, Sandalwood Incense Sticks, and White Washed Incense Holder. Before you begin
Never leave a candle or an incense stick burning unattended, keep them away from anything that can catch, use the small candles only in a purpose-made, heat-resistant holder on a stable surface, and burn incense on its holder in a ventilated room; woodwick candles crackle and can spit. Prefer LED candles where the evening does not require a real flame. Do not bathe by candlelight alone. Bath salt and soap make a bath slippery; take care getting in and out, patch-test if your skin is sensitive, and follow each pack. The tea contains caffeine; prepare it according to its own packaging and check the ingredients if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or have a known allergy. Selenite dissolves in water; keep the bowl dry. The amethyst, the bowl and the necklace are decorative objects with small parts, not toys and not for children; do not place the stones in food, drink or bathwater. Keep every item, and all packaging, away from babies, children and pets. This is a string of lights, a candle, a tea and a journal, put together so that one evening of remembering has a shape to it; nothing here treats, prevents or cures anything, and it is not a substitute for anybody's care in grief.
